Ryanair in-flight WiFi entertainment Wi-Fi service on-boardThe Dublin-based airline Ryanair announced that it will test in the next months an in-flight entertainment service and the on-board WiFi service.

The trial is going to start imminently for the flight to and from Dublin.

The Wi-Fi connection to check e-mails and surf the web could incur a charge, while movie streaming (from the plane’s pre-recorded films and TV shows database) is free for passengers and it’s paid for by advertising. Passengers will be able to log-in to the system on their tablets and smartphones.

Ryanair’s goal is to attract business travelers and families, that usually avoid low-cost carriers and “no-frills” flights.

If the trial run proves popular, the service could be rolled out to Ryanair entire fleet, that operates around 1600 flights daily.
